About Audiogame Jam

Audiogame Jam is a game jam event challenging developers to make a games playable by people without sight. We have several aims.

  • To raise awareness of accessibility issues in games experienced by visually impaired people.
  • To encourage game developers to design their games with accessibility in mind.

  • To promote the work that sight loss charities do in helping visually impaired people engage with technology.

I started Audiogame Jam to raise money for the Royal National Institute of Blind People, a sight loss charity in the UK for which I volunteer. I have sight loss and the RNIB have been a great source of support at many points of my life. Audiogame Jam is my attempt to help them provide the support I enjoyed to others with sight loss.

The first Audiogame Jam event ran from August 26th to September 5th 2017.  16 games were submitted and a modest amount of money was raised. Plans are being made for another event this year. Please follow us on Twitter at @MakeAudiogames for the latest updates.

Many thanks,
